The Rutgers Jewish Film Festival has been presenting an array of wonderful movies with Jewish themes since 2000. The movies are screened just down the road from CBT, at the Regal Cinemas, 2399 Route 1 South, North Brunswick.
This year, we are organizing a B’nai Tikvah group to join together, schmooze (and eat) a little, and attend one of the movies as a group.
The Movie We are Seeing: “The Green Prince”
The Green Prince presents such an extraordinary story that one is tempted to think it is fiction. Disillusioned by Hamas’s ruthless tactics, Palestinian Mosab Hassan Yousef agrees to spy for Israel.
The film follows the complex relationship between Yousef, coping with shame and conflicting personal responsibilities, and his Shin Bet handler, Gonen Ben Yitzhak, now “operating” the oldest son of a founding member of Hamas.
Director Nadav Schirman builds superb tension throughout the historical and personal drama and the film’s surprisingly emotional journey. The film is based on Yousef’s memoir, Son of Hamas.
The director of the movie has been invited to address the audience after the movie.
The Plan
Join us at 5 PM at the home of the Rabbi and Ruth-Ann for a pizza party!
We will then make our way to the Regal Cinemas where we will sit together to watch The Green Prince, which starts at7:00 PM.
If you are one of those people who enjoy discussing the movie afterwards, then come with us as we end the evening at the Yo Fresh Yogurt Cafe across the parking lot from the theater.

6:20 PM – Depart for Regal Cinemas

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
Tickets for the Rutgers Jewish Film Festival are:
General Admission: $12
Seniors (62+): $10
Students (through college): $6
Our pricing, including the pizza party, is the same! That’s right, you get to hang out with fellow CBT’ers, munch pizza and see a movie all for the same price as the movie alone! What a deal!
You’ll have to pay for your own yogurt after the movie. After all, should someone else have to pay for all that chocolate syrup you like?
To take advantage of this offer, we need to have your commitment and your money into the synagogue office by Monday, October 6th. Checks may be made out to Congregation B’nai Tikvah.
