President
It is the function of the President to preside, as chairperson, at meetings of the Board of Directors and to call meetings of the general membership. The president is an ex-officio member of all committees without the right to vote, except to break a tie. The President may establish non-Standing committees to carry out express duties for the welfare of the congregation.
Allison Nagelberg has held several synagogue positions since 2002, including Vice-President of Ways & Means, Vice-President of Membership, and most recently chaired the fundraising committee for Mitzvah 613. Allison has served on the boards of the Solomon Schechter schools in East Brunswick and West Orange. She is a past President of the Elijah Chapter of Jewish Women International and was honored by Torah Links of Middlesex County. Allison is the General Counsel for Monmouth Real Estate Investment Corp. and UMH Properties, Inc. She met her husband, David, in USY when they were in high school. All three of their children have continued the family USY tradition, assuming leadership positions in the North/South Brunswick Chapter and the Hagalil Region. [weaver_sc id="clear_image"]
Ruth Anne Koenick has served as B’nai Tikvah President from 2007 through 2011, was Vice-President of Membership, has chaired and co-chaired countless committees, including Past President of Sisterhood. Ruth Anne heads the Office for Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance at Rutgers University and has received countless awards for her work in the sexual violence prevention field, inlcuding the Lifetime Acheivement Award from the NJCASA. She also teaches in the Graduate School of Social Work and the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers. Ruth Anne is married to Paul Herman, who also teaches in the Graduate School of Education and the English department at Rutgers, and has two married children and two grandchildren. Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is comprised of the President, Past President, Clergy, Administrator, and the five Vice Presidents. The Committee meets once a month to set the agenda for upcoming board meetings.
